Part 2: The Media Onslaught There were two ways people could communicate with me: through the hidden e-mail address where I had registered the domain name, or through the hidden phone number left in one of the fake voicemails. Within three days, I had over a million hits to the web site, and the voicemail box was too full to accept any more messages. There were dozens of requests for interviews from morning radio shows, mainstream media publications, and curious fans. No one knew who was behind the site, but that didn't stop the press from reporting the stunt as news.
My personal favorite was the Ashton Kutcher Wikipedia entry, which devoted an entire paragraph of Ashton's life to the prank. (Now, if we could just convince the Encyclopedia Britannica people to do the same!)
